Eighth-ranked Santiagueno (4-12) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Fantasmas (11-5) in Usultan on Thursday. The visitors from San Vicente managed to secure only two-point victory 86-84. However their fans expected much easier game. Fantasmas dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Santiagueno's 44. American guard Caleb Bowser (193, college: Georgian Court) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals for the winners. His fellow American import swingman Andravious Smith (198-1995, college: Tougaloo) chipped in 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Puerto Rican Bryan Gonzalez (190-2000, college: PR-Bayamon) produced a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for lost side. Fantasmas maintains fourth place with 11-5 record. Santiagueno at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Santa Tecla was also worth to mention about. 4th placed San Salvador (10-6) played at the court of sixth ranked Santa Tecla (6-11). Santa Tecla defeated San Salvador 80-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of San Salvador. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Cameron Lard (206-1997, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds. Ron Lawton contributed with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Cuban swingman Neysser Coutin (192-1996, agency: Pro Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for San Salvador. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 6-11 record. San Salvador at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
